We were curious about what the American consumer thinks about the current economy and its effects on his or her life. Within a few hours, our platform collected and automatically analyzed several thousands of real consumers’ free-form expressions (accompanied with qualitative data) about the economy.


With the exception of the 25-34 y/o age group, the majority of people within each age group rank the current economy as “poor.”

More troubling is that across all ages, the majority of Americans think that the economic conditions in the country are getting worse. 📉

When asked for the most significant financial problem that their family faces today, 11% mentioned food! This was more than gas (9%), despite the media attention on gas prices.
